Richard M. Martinez, MD, FACC

Dr. Martinez is a native Floridian from Tampa. He attended Jesuit High School in Tampa, did undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, and graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics and did a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Martinez joined Pediatric Cardiology Associates and the department of pediatrics at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine in 1986 where he has been serving the children of Tampa Bay, as well as those from Central and Southwest Florida, ever since.

 

Dr. Martinez was the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology at All Children's Hospital, 1992-1999. He was also the Chief of Staff at All Children's Hospital, 2000-2001. Dr. Martinez's primary interests are fetal and pediatric transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography as well as exercise testing. In addition, he has developed a program for adults with congenital heart disease, thus continuing the care for children with congenital heart disease into adulthood.
